The UN’s plan to end the war in korea in 1950
In late November of 1950, the UN’s 8th Army launched the Home By Christmas Offensive in Western North Korea. The objective of the operation was to capture the remaining pockets of Communist controlled territory in North Korea, and hopefully end the war. Of course, Communist China had other ideas. Lightly armed Chinese forces moved at night through rough terrain to cut the supply lines of American and ROK forces. Unable to secure their flanks and rears, UN forces decided to abandon the offensive, retreat, and try to establish a defensive line further south. This game lets you play the UN forces, and lets you try and keep the offensive going. The Eighth Army and the People’s Volunteer Army had roughly the same number of men, and UN forces were much better armed, so a win would definitely be possible. You do have to overcome the PVA’s ability to move through the mountains, and counter the enemy’s ability to cut off your supply lines. Good luck!
